Montgo Chorale is a friendly, mixed choir and has members of different nationalities and ages, all of whom enjoy singing together. We perform works from the huge range available to choirs including early church music to modern classics e.g. popular works by Fauré, Vivaldi, Schubert and Jenkins as well as less well known and original pieces.  In addition to rehearsing and performing together, the choir has a variety of social events usually after performances.

Rehearsals

We meet at the Bar Mediterraneo, Av. Del Mediterrani, 36 Teulada on Mondays, 6.30-8.30pm. We ask members to arrive in plenty of time for a prompt start. We do not pay for use of the room but ask members to buy at least 1 drink per session. Occasionally we meet @ Gran Sol, Calpe, too.

Rehearsals usually begin at the beginning of September until after Christmas events. Rehearsals recommence in early January, taking a break on Easter Monday and continuing until the Spring concert is over. Choir then takes a summer break until the following September. This timetable is subject to changes as circumstances allow.

Rehearsals are conducted in English but we sing in a variety of languages including Latin, German, Italian and Spanish.

Experience Montgo Chorale

08.jpg

Montgó Chorale is always pleased when prospective members contact us, especially if they have seen a performance and want to join this successful choir. However, it is our policy to try and keep a good balance of sections. Therefore, currently we will welcome any bass or tenor but there are restrictions on the addition of women in the choir.

There are no auditions to join and there is no requirement to be able to read music. Obviously this is an advantage and non-music readers do pick up skills during rehearsals. We ask potential new members to attend 2 or 3 rehearsals to get a true taste of what it means to sing with our choir. After that, the director and prospective member will discuss whether they are mutually happy about joining.

As we are a self supporting group, members pay a subscription fee. Currently, this is 50 euros in January, April and September. This is in addition to any profit made from ticket sales.

If you are interested, please fill in the form below, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
