Aileen’s musical background is rooted in classical music. She started learning the violin at age 7, and played in youth, and later symphony orchestras. She has an M.A. in music. She has taught violin in schools, played in orchestras for local amateur operatic shows and in a barn dance band. After moving to Spain in 1999, she taught at the Lady Elizabeth School and began conducting the school orchestra. She was then  involved in various local theatre musical shows. She formed the Calpe Gilbert & Sullivan Society. She has been the conductor for some local choirs including Caprice, which she founded and since 2020, Denia Rock Choir.

In January 2020, she took on the role of musical director of Montgo Chorale. Work had begun on a spring concert in that year, until the Covid pandemic struck. In the past four years, the choir has begun to develop again,  under Aileen's direction and had several successful concerts. The latest Christmas charity concert was such a success that the choir received a standing ovation as it left the church.

Kirsty is a pianist, organist and accordionist. She is also a fine alto singer. She studied music at Napier University, Edinburgh. As a professional musician, she has played at many of Scotland's prestigious venues as well as performing throughout the U.K., Cyprus and the Middle East.

She is an experienced accompanist who plays for a number of local choirs. She also teaches music at a local school. She has been the accompanist for Montgo Chorale since 2020.
