Gordon Lawson
Musical Director 2007 - 2017
In 2007, Gordon Lawson founded Montgó Chorale having had a varied career in different aspects of music and being a published composer. Over the next 11 years, under his directorship, the choir developed a good reputation and completed a number of well-received concerts of many popular works. In that time, they collected thousands of euros for charities including Caritas and the Convent Day Centre, Javea.

For Gordon's farewell concert, the choir premiered his own "Requiem". It was a fitting goodbye to Montgó Chorale's founder. Whilst he may have left Montgó Chorale, he continues to be very active in local musical events and is still composing.
Jan Dewland
Musical Director 2017 - 2019
In 2017, Gordon retired and Jan Dewland, then a soprano with the choir, took over as director and continued to develop the choir’s reputation with concerts in 2018 which were deemed successes including a joint performance with a U.K. based choir. In 2019, after the Christmas concert, Jan left Spain in order to travel more.
